Family Photography

Because real family life isn’t perfectly behaved – and that’s where the magic happens

Most families arrive at a photoshoot slightly stressed, slightly rushed – and often after quite a bit of chaos getting out the door.
That’s completely normal.
Your children don’t need to sit still, smile on cue or behave perfectly for us to create beautiful images.

What a Family Shoot Feels Like

Before Your Shoot – Before we meet

Before we meet, I’ll send you a short questionnaire so I can understand your family – personalities, dynamics, and what will help everyone feel comfortable.
This allows me to tailor the session so it feels relaxed and natural for everyone.

Where It Can Take Place

Your session can take place at home, outdoors, or somewhere meaningful to your family. I also have a selection of locations I know work beautifully in different seasons.

What the Session Feels Like

Family sessions usually last around 1.5–2 hours, giving us plenty of time for a relaxed, stress-free experience and a good variety of images.
For the most part, we simply spend time together – chatting, playing a few tailored games, and letting things unfold naturally. I’ll gently guide where needed, using my experience to create flattering, natural photographs without anything feeling forced.

Waggy tails welcome

As a dog owner myself I know just how important a family member they are – and they are always welcome to be part of your session.

Worried it might feel awkward?

It’s completely normal to feel a bit unsure about having your family photographed.
Whether it’s toddlers who won’t sit still, children charging around, or teenagers who would rather be anywhere else – I promise, you’re not the only ones.
You don’t need to perform or “get it right”.
I won’t ask you to stand stiffly and pose. Instead, I create space for you to be yourselves -playing, chatting, interacting – with a little gentle guidance when needed to bring you together naturally.

I also understand that inviting someone into your family life, and hoping everything goes smoothly on the day, can feel like a lot of pressure.

And honestly?
The moments you might be worrying about – the wobbly lips, the tears, the child who won’t sit still, or the teenager who refuses to smile – are often the moments that mean the most later.

A photoshoot that the whole family will enjoy
Based on your completed pre-shoot questionnaire, we will be hanging out in your house, the park or a walk and play in the woods. I tailor the shoot to your family. Mostly I will capture you at play, but there will be some moments where I bring you together for some gently directed group shots. Each session is 1-2 hours long.
An award-winning photographer
With over 30 Awards, 12 years of training and experience and a qualification in photography, plus a career in the film and music industries, I know a lot of what makes a photoshoot fun, what looks great and how to capture beautiful natural shots.
I will send you an online gallery of at least 30 hand-edited images in a mixture of black and white and colour. You can then select and pay for the package that suits you best.

My photo sessions are very relaxed. When you book, I send through a questionnaire for you to complete telling me everything about you and your family. This helps me tailor the shoot to you and plan what will be fun. The more you tell me about you all, the better the experience.
The session lasts between 60-120 minutes.

When you book I’ll send through a questionnaire for you to complete. This helps me work what works best for you and plan some fun for your shoot. Tell the children you are going for a fun couple hours with your friend Justine, to help them feel relaxed.

Start with What makes you feel good!  When you book I will send you a guide on choosing what to wear in your welcome pack.

Wherever you like! You can choose to have your family photoshoot in your house and garden (which generally works best for babies of 0-12 months), or in a mixture of your home and out and about. I can suggest several woodland/park locations around Farnborough, Camberley, Fleet, Farnham and Guildford that look lovely and have great light for natural family photos. Alternatively, you can choose a place that is special to you as a family.
Get in touch and let’s have a chat about what would suit your family best.

I understand the anxiety of inviting a stranger into your lives to photograph you, and feeling the pressure of time and getting it right.
This is why I ask for as much information as possible on your questionnaire, so that I can tailor your shoot to you. To help make it relaxing and fun, I allow more time than is needed in case we need to take a pause.
But honestly, I am there to capture you as you are, because this moment … those wobbly lips, fat tears and child that won’t sit down or teen that won’t smile … are memories to keep and enjoy later.
And if you let me, trust me, I will coax out some giggles and smiles too.

Yes! Maternity photoshoots are perfect for creating beautiful, natural and relaxed portraits as you prepare for parenthood. They can be just of you and your bump, or include your partner too.
I find the best time to have the shoot is when you are 32-35 weeks pregnant. Sessions last approximately 90 minutes, and they can be done in your home, on location or a mixture of both.

Yes! Ideally a newborn photoshoot is taken when your baby is 0-4 weeks old and I love being part of this special time in parents’ lives, capturing precious moments for a lifetime. Sessions last up to 2 hours in your home, allowing plenty of time to pause and feed/have a nap.
Please let me know your expected due date when you book – the photoshoot can always be moved if dates change.

Choose whether you would like a weekday or weekend session, then click the ‘Get in touch’ button and let me know the best way to contact you to find a date that works.

As we know. it rains a lot in the UK. (You just have to say “BBQ next weekend” to almost guarantee it!)
But I find it rarely rains all day, so if the weather looks iffy on the day of your family photoshoot, we can be flexible about the shoot time to find a gap in the weather. I don’t book in more than one session a day and am happy to be flexible where possible.
If its wet I love to embrace it with wellies and umbrellas and sploshing in puddles (left to the end of the shoot of course & only if you are happy).
However if it looks torrential we can change location or move to another mutually convenient date within 1 year.

Yes, every package has digitals included. You can also buy additional digitals with every package.

Your gallery will be hand edited in a mixture of colour and black and white pictures. These are separate images to purchase.

It can seem from when they start nursery your child is constantly got one bug or another.
I am always happy to postpone if you are ill, the weather is dreadful or due to a family emergency. If you need to cancel the session fee is non – refundable.

Yes please, waggy bottoms are very welcome. Please tell me all about them in your questionnaire.

Absolutely! I love capturing the whole family together.
Often bought as a gift voucher for a birthday or Christmas. This is sometimes a surprise gift for grandparents to come along to or to enjoy the printed images we have created together.
Every one of my packages comes with a beautiful set of prints in a gift box and also a set of digitals for you all to print from. The top package includes all the digitals and one set of prints so you don’t even have to agree on what images to have.  Each package is for 5 people and so just add £10 per additional person.

From children’s birthday parties, christenings and baptism’s to Big adult birthdays please get in touch to let me know your event and date and receive a tailored quote.

I love getting gift vouchers towards things I really want. It brings me one step further to having it.
I therefore sell gift vouchers from as little as £25.  Please get in touch and choose a digital gift card or a beautifully boxed printed copy (please allow 5 workings day for the printed version to arrive)
When choosing your gift voucher, I recommend you select the option based on your budget, the recipient will always be able to upgrade to a larger package should they wish to do so once they see the photos.
Do check here for my prices and be sure to let them know what your gift covers.
Gift vouchers can be used for Family Photoshoots, Weddings, Headshots or products such as digitals, printed photos or albums.
