Documenting the smiles, the laughs, the tears and the grumps.
Family Photography
Because real family life isn’t perfectly behaved – and that’s where the magic happens
Most families arrive at a photoshoot slightly stressed, slightly rushed – and often after quite a bit of chaos getting out the door.
That’s completely normal.
Your children don’t need to sit still, smile on cue or behave perfectly for us to create beautiful images.
What a Family Shoot Feels Like
We’ll go for a walk, spend time at home, or head somewhere your family loves.
For the most part, I simply hang out with you- chatting, asking questions, playing games and capturing what naturally unfolds.
Before Your Shoot – Before we meet
Before we meet, I’ll send you a short questionnaire so I can understand your family – personalities, dynamics, and what will help everyone feel comfortable.
This allows me to tailor the session so it feels relaxed and natural for everyone.
Where It Can Take Place
Your session can take place at home, outdoors, or somewhere meaningful to your family. I also have a selection of locations I know work beautifully in different seasons.

What the Session Feels Like
Family sessions usually last around 1.5–2 hours, giving us plenty of time for a relaxed, stress-free experience and a good variety of images.
For the most part, we simply spend time together – chatting, playing a few tailored games, and letting things unfold naturally. I’ll gently guide where needed, using my experience to create flattering, natural photographs without anything feeling forced.
The best photos tend to happen in the in-between moments – when everyone forgets about the camera.
Waggy tails welcome
As a dog owner myself I know just how important a family member they are – and they are always welcome to be part of your session.
As long as they’re happy around new people and comfortable in the environment, I’ll happily include them.
As you’ll see from my gallery, they often steal the show!
Worried it might feel awkward?

It’s completely normal to feel a bit unsure about having your family photographed.
Whether it’s toddlers who won’t sit still, children charging around, or teenagers who would rather be anywhere else – I promise, you’re not the only ones.
You don’t need to perform or “get it right”.
I won’t ask you to stand stiffly and pose. Instead, I create space for you to be yourselves -playing, chatting, interacting – with a little gentle guidance when needed to bring you together naturally.
I also understand that inviting someone into your family life, and hoping everything goes smoothly on the day, can feel like a lot of pressure.
That’s why I take time to get to know you beforehand through your questionnaire, so I can tailor the session around your family and what will help everyone feel at ease.
I always allow plenty of time, so there’s no rush – and space for breaks if we need them.

And honestly?
The moments you might be worrying about – the wobbly lips, the tears, the child who won’t sit still, or the teenager who refuses to smile – are often the moments that mean the most later.
Because that’s real family life.
And if you trust me and relax into it…
I promise I’ll gently coax out some giggles and smiles along the way too.
